On Friday, September 30, the College of Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst will hold its seventh annual Outstanding Alumni Awards Celebration during Homecoming Weekend. The college’s celebration will include be held in the Marriott Room on the 11th floor of the Campus Center at UMass Amherst. The Homecoming Reception & Awards Celebration will begin at 4:30 p.m. During the reception, the College of Engineering will present its Outstanding Senior and Junior Alumni Awards to eight individuals who, through exemplary accomplishments, epitomize the potential of an education at the UMass Amherst College of Engineering.
These gifted alumni embody the college’s mission to educate the engineering leaders of tomorrow and help drive the economy of today.
The presentation of awards will be made by College of Engineering Dean Tim Anderson and the four department heads: John Klier, chemical engineering; John E. Tobiason, civil and environmental engineering, substituting for Richard Palmer; Christopher V. Hollot, electrical and computer engineering; and Sundar Krishnamurty, mechanical and industrial engineering.

Recipients of the College of Engineering 2016 Outstanding Senior Alumni Award have brought recognition and honor to the College of Engineering through their professional achievements, leadership, and service to the profession, university, and society. This year’s award winners are: Roberto Padovani ’83 MS, ’85 PhD ECE; Edward S. Price ’90 ChE; Martin C. Ross ’86 MIE; John P. Sullivan, Jr. ’72 CEE.
Recipients of the College of Engineering 2016 Outstanding Junior Alumni Award are worthy ambassadors for the UMass Amherst College of Engineering and have shown extraordinary effort and notable success in their early careers. This year the recipients are: Vered Bisker-Leib ’02 MBA, ’03 PhD ChE; Aaron M. Dollar ’00 MIE; Tiffany T. Labrie ’03, ’05 MS CEE; Justin S. Peavey ’93 ECE.
