As Professor of Practice, Lagrant teaches basic and advanced manufacturing related courses with a focus on applied engineering. He also leads industry-based projects and focused capstone activities, and works with industry partners for case studies and practical experience opportunities. He is responsible for moving the proposed graduate program in manufacturing engineering through the approval process, and will serve as the faculty advisor for the students the program. Jim’s interests include: process scale-up, automating manual processes, applications of industrial automation, manufacturing process data collection, statistical process control applications and analytics.
