The College of Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst held its first annual Outstanding Alumni Awards Luncheon during Homecoming Weekend, on Saturday, October 16, 2010. The luncheon included the presentation of College of Engineering Outstanding Junior/Senior Alumni Awards to individuals who, through exemplary accomplishments, epitomize the potential of an education at the UMass Amherst College of Engineering. The event happened from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the 10th floor Amherst Room of the UMass Amherst Campus Center.
Recipients of the College of Engineering 2010 Outstanding Senior Alumni Award have brought recognition and honor to the College of Engineering through their professional achievements, leadership, and service to the profession, university, and society. This year’s award winners are: Michael G. Hluchyj '76, Electrical and Computer Engineering; David C. Jeanes '73, Civil and Environmental Engineering; Paul C. Washburn, III '81, Industrial Engineering, '84 M.B.A.; William E. Woodburn, Jr. '56, Chemical Engineering.
Recipients of the College of Engineering 2010 Outstanding Junior Alumni Award are worthy ambassadors for the UMass Amherst College of Engineering and have shown extraordinary effort and notable success in their early careers. This year the recipients are: Alaina B. Hanlon '05, Ph.D. '08, Mechanical Engineering; Willard S. MacDonald '94, Electrical and Computer Engineering, M.S. '96 Computer Science; Stephanie Raimondeau Ph.D. '02, Chemical Engineering & Joseph Watson M.S. '00, Chemical Engineering; Prabhjeet Raj Singh M.S. ’01, Civil and Environmental Engineering.
